About the Photograph
It was a cold winter morning, especially by the river. Getting up in the middle of the night paid off – the view of Manhattan skyline, which looked like enormous, but empty, tranquil and quiet city at the moment (in contrary to what one can see at daytime), was totally worth the whole effort. Especially when the sun began rising, backlighting the skyscrapers and creating this incredible glow… Pay attention to details, like the steam coming from the rooftops of the buildings in Downtown Manhattan. I believe that no photograph is capable of expressing that experience.
