The story

Just a few times I made it to the Hamilton Park in New Jersey, which provides one of the most spectacular views to the entire Manhattan. It is well known from panoramic images, which I've created a few as well, but what I often pay attention to are details and that's why I choose to shoot using high focal lengths. One of the potential crops I almost immediately noticed was the Hudson Yards (still partially under construction at the time) juxtaposed with the legendary landmark, the Empire State Building. The Hudson Yards is a modern project of mostly commercial buildings settled above the underground train tunnels. The crop gives the impression that this complex is an isolated city inside Manhattan - and that's how it actually works.

Location: Weehawken, New Jersey
