O fotografii

The photograph depicts Manhattan Financial District skyline with moody sky before sunset. It is one of my favorite (and the most popular) spots in Brooklyn to shoot the impressive panorama of Downtown Manhattan. Landscape photographer's work is very spontaneous and full of surprises, positive and negative. We are usually limited by the weather, especially if the intention is to capture the natural scene. My initial idea of this photograph was completely different: I was going to capture classic sunset in color, hoping for the sky beautifully filled with clouds. The scenery appeared to be way more dramatic. I chose to apply long exposure and convert the image to B&W, which in my view was be the best way to express the mood of that special moment.
