The Story

Just a few times I made it to the Hamilton Park in New Jersey, which provides one of the most spectacular views to the entire Manhattan. It is well known from panoramic photographs, which I've created a few as well, but what I often pay attention to are details and that's why I choose to shoot using high focal lengths. My attention was drawn to the Billionaires' Row, where a lot of construction was going on. Two new towers: 111 W57th Street, AKA "the Steinway Tower", Central Park Tower, were being built, along with another tower at the Columbus Circle being extended. I was lucky to witness the creation of these and many other new towers in Manhattan between 2014 and 2020. The city's skyline changed significantly during that period, as numerous new investments began. The photograph presents some of the new projects in the Billionaires' Row, as well as some of the recently finished projects like 53 W53rd St, 432 Park Avenue, One 57, and the "old" surroundings in the west side of Midtown Manhattan by night, when New York appears most mysterious, moody and alluring.
