The Story

This was one of my first successful cityscape photographs and it was also taken during my first walk on Manhattan Bridge. I became inspired by numerous shots of this view and had been feeling the urge to create one myself for a long time. When I finally arrived there on a cold winter afternoon, it took me a while to find some way to set up the gear. There was actually no gap in the fence where I could place my lens. Ultimately, I removed the hood and put the lens in-between the handrail and the net (scratching the lens body, as the gap was super tight). The view was breathtaking and the experience was exciting, considering that it was my first opportunity to see it with my own eyes. I watched the sun going down hiding behind the horizon and begun releasing the shutter. I shot long exposure, which along with the strong wind pushing the clouds at a high pace provided me the exact result I was attempting to create. Subsequent editing in my studio took long hours, but allowed me to create my this beautiful photograph, which I've been very proud of ever since.
