Financial District located in Lower Manhattan is usually approached from two perspectives on the land: Brooklyn Bridge Park across the East River and Exchange Place across the Hudson River. This photograph was made from the second spot.
As a landscape photographer, what I usually get disappointed about is a blank sky. I personally count for dramatic, colorful sunsets and beautiful enchanting twilights. That evening, the sky turned out blank again, but I managed to use it for my benefit. From my own experience of photographing World Trade Center, I can say that its glass facades look very differently in various lighting conditions, as the way these giant mirrors reflect the light changes significantly. This time, they looked like flawless, precious diamonds, undisturbed by a single cloud or anything else in the surroundings. They just shined beautifully, reflecting the remains of the sun's glow, which had already hidden behind the horizon. The little lights which appeared in the windows added wonderful details, which was an icing on the cake in this setting. These tranquil conditions also allowed me to take several vertical shots and stack them into a panorama in post-processing, which is why this photograph is perfect for enormous sizes art prints.
